The Faculty of Engineering aims to implement the following objectives:
1- Preparation of engineers attached to their Islamic Belief and to their home land, ready to serve and defend its country; proud of their affiliation to the Arabic Nation.
2- Training a corp of engineers capable of coordinating and executing a comprehensive engineering programme of planned Socio-economic development and to meet the actual needs of the market.
3- Providing the engineers with the necessary knowledge and wide information in Engineering and Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities.
4- Providing to the engineer the ability to follow the modern trends in engineering sciences and the continuation of higher studies and to carry out scientific research.
5- Promoting result oriented research to develop indigenous technology, translate it into welfare of the people and disseminate the findings.
6- Cooperating with industrial and other organizations in solving technological problems in different engineering fields.
7- Helping continuous updating of the quality of engineers in industry through training and continuous education.
8- Undertaking research and development and consultancy projects in various fields of engineering.
9- Conducting conferences, symposiums and workshops in order to serve the modernization of the ongoing education in various fields of engineering and reflect the modern trends.
10- Publishing of specialized scientific journals to promote scientific research in the university.
