In view of the rapid development in the fields of computer sciences and engineering and the need of qualified engineers in the field of computers, the Computer Science and Engineering Department was opened in the year 1998. The department offers specialization in the broad areas of software systems, hardware systems and computer applications.

The graduates are expected to be well-versed in the theory and practice of computers and should be in a position to take up jobs in many organizations. The Department offers 5-year program leading to the B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering. The students are required to undertake a final year project and two-month summer training.

The Department has the following laboratories:
1- Computing Laboratory.
2- Microprocessor laboratory.
