The Department of Basic Sciences was established in the faculty to cater for the basic science needs of engineering students. The Department comprises of three distinct disciplines of Applied Mathematics, Applied physics and Applied Chemistry, along with an additional discipline of Humanities. The Humanities courses, such as, Islamic Culture, Arabic and English are taught in collaboration with their respective departments in the University . The Department has adequate laboratories for practical work in Physics and Chemistry.
